"Duality" is a relatively common inspiration for collections, be it women's or men's wear, but the Matiere Spring 2016 collection brought new life to the concept via technology and a unique brand vision. "Embedded within the fiber of Matiere is the belief that material leads design" read the official show notes, and the actual literal materials did indeed appear to be the driving force. The shapes were simple, and the lines were clean, but interest was supplied via "Technical nylons infused with pattern, 3-D french terry, and dense cotton slub."
